Black Friday to Cyber Monday is is the biggest e-commerce period of the entire year, to be an ecommerce brand that is opting out of price slashing deals was a very difficult choice for us. We knew we could bring in a lot of new customers and have a bigger revenue month than we've ever had, but... at what cost?
Black Friday gets longer and longer every year, with sales starting earlier, getting more intense and competitive. We had the harsh realisation that we couldn't compete (even if we tried) with brands able to slash their margins by over 50%.
We produce in Australia, we don't use any polyester and we are made to order. Every time someone places an order, we cut, sew and pack it. We wouldn't even be able to meet the demands of the kind of breakneck speed consumption Black Friday encourages. We would have to sacrifice quality, delay orders and our service would decrease
We want to create valuable products, we don't want to cheat consumers with predatory sales tactics that devalue the support of our loyal patrons. If you would like a Familiar Characters piece, it will almost always be the same price, because it is always worth the same to us, and hopefully to you.
The only discounts we ever offer are the following:
Newsletter Exclusive Offers
- A welcome discount which is either 10% off or free shipping
- $ Value Gifts to spend on 'last calls', which are styles about to be discounted or sold out due to reaching the end of our fabric supply (less than 3 orders remaining).
General Offers
- Our annual sample sale for limited marketing and production samples, and garment seconds (garments that didn't pass QA for minor reasons)
This year we are giving all orders an 'Excellence in Existing' ribbon, to show a bit of appreciation for the support of our community and their choice to shop small this year. We don't want to be a brand that demands you buy more! more! more!, buy now! now! now! We are just happy your'e here,
Thank You for Being Part Of Our Journey
You're Excellent At Existing
with Love
