‘Made-to-Order’ means we create your piece specifically for you after you place an order. Rather than you purchasing something that already exists, your piece is brought into the world after you make a purchase, this is a way to reduce waste, the chance of stock getting discarded and reduces our eco foot print. Only making what we can be sure will sell.
But, what steps does this involve? This is familiar characters made to order process:
FIRST:
Your order is added to production and assigned a postage date within 10 business days.
THEN:
Your order is cut and sewn from our in-house fabrics using a our patterns, start to finish by one person,
No production lines, one specialist sewer creating your garment for you. Although it is only one person creating, your garment is made alongside any other orders for the week, this is why sometimes an order can be shipped very quickly, Sometimes the planets align and your order will be sent out earlier than 10 days if you place an order on a day where we are doing a batch cut of styles.
AND FINALLY:
After we press, trim, tidy and inspect your order to ensure it meets our quality standards, we fold it, wrap it up sweetly, and send it out to you with tracked postage! All of our orders are shipped in a recyclable pink box, so they are nice safe and easy to re use if you need to exchange your size
Made to Order May Take Longer But it means:
No large amounts of stock sitting around unsold. Many large brands have excess stock that they throw away or burn. We will never ever do that because we only make what YOU need
We can make real time improvements. we can constantly improve fit, fabric and finishes because we are always upgrading equipment and materials AS WE GO. Our products are not static, they evolve with feedback to get better and better. We can actually listen to our customers and hear them when they want something different.
You can request customisations - because we are making your piece from scratch you can make changes you wouldn't be able to with a regular garment. You'd have to take you piece to be altered, but we can alter it for you from the start!
And Most importantly:
It fosters a value driven relationship with clothing and slows down the fashion cycle! Made to Order is in fundamental opposition to fast fashion, which is why it's so important to offer it!
